What is Auriculotherapy (Ear Acupuncture)
Auriculotherapy is a system of treating pain and many other conditions by stimulating points on the outer ear. This is also known as auricular acupuncture.
I use either/and a mix of semi-permanent studs or stimulating device. The studs are very different from traditional acupuncture needles both in size and shape and they are also designed to be safe to remain in position for the next 1 to 5 days following treatment. Treatments are rapid and can provide reduction and/or relief from even severe pain and other conditions. It can be used as both a stand-alone treatment or to support other therapies or run alongside such thing as diets, stopping smoking and addictions. There are some clients to do not utilise the other treatments I offer, they just like this one on its own.
The protocol involves the insertion of up to 5 needles in the various part of the ear. An alternative to the needles is a Mild Electro-stimulation device that may be a better option for some clients. The needles are tiny, sterile and are designed to fall out in approximately 1 – 5 days.
Battlefield acupuncture is ideal for clients who do not want to disrobe or remove any items of clothing as only the ears are that is needed.

How Does it Work?
Auricular acupuncture is a diagnostic and treatment system based on normalizing the body's dysfunction through stimulation of points on the ear. Resulting in the improvement or reduction of pain and illness is believed to be through the reticular formation and the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Ear acupuncture is an acupuncture technique similar to reflexology and is speculated that the technique works because groups of pluripotent cells contain information from the whole organism and create regional organization centres representing different parts of the body, through recruitment of more cortex cells dedicated to specific areas of the body. Thus stimulation of a reflex point in the ear can relieve symptoms of distant pathology with a reliable duration.
